Hello and welcome to my blog site!

I’m Briana, Bri, for short.

Briana Eva

I’m a 30 year old wife and cat mom who lives in a small-medium sized city in northern Wisconsin. I’m a free spirit who loves everything about designing, decorating, and surrounding myself with anything I feel is aesthetically pleasing to my soul.

I have a passion for seeking out anything that I LOVE in all aspects of life, and I won’t stop searching until I find exactly what I’m looking for. I have a very specific taste and preference in all areas of life, but I have yet to find a specific style name that matches my overall look.  I like to use a little bit of this and a little bit of that to create my own style — please don’t be fooled by the style guidelines given by others, having your own style is totally acceptable!  I believe that If you stick to the same overall theme, or color pallet, of YOUR choosing, you could create a look that is much more pleasing to your soul than you would by sticking to someone else’s guidelines!  I find so much joy in hunting for, and  gathering, my colors, elements, items and designs, and then watching my visions come to life as I complete my projects. I also love finding deals, dupes and doing big diy projects. Most of all, I love finding rare and beautiful antique or vintage furniture and architectural elements and using them in my designs for character and charm.

My purpose in life is to spread kindness, love and acceptance to everyone and everything.  I believe that everyone deserves a chance to be heard and cared for.  Everyone is beautiful in their own way. ♥

Coffee + Tea
Coffee + tea are necessities for me. I don't know what I would do without them. If you enjoy them as well, grab a cup and relax while we explore what my blog has to offer!
lifestyle aesthetic
We all have things we enjoy doing, (other than decorating, of course,) and when we do those things, we almost always bring something with us. You might like to garden, hike, camp, bike, swim, go on vacation, or even just walk the mall to shop. Well, I believe that surrounding ourselves with elements that make us happy is extremely important, and matching our lifestyle necessities with our favored aesthetic is one way to do that.
event planning inspiration
Are you a DIY'er & a planner? — So am I. Planning is one of my hobbies, actually. I've been told that I tend to take everything I do to the next level, including throwing a good party. (I call that being a good host though, but what do I know ; ) So, if you're anything like me, you're going to want to keep an eye on my blog for some event inspiration, templates, ideas, budget hacks, tips & tricks!
wellness + self care
In order to keep a healthy mind, body and soul, we need to tend to our needs first. Sometimes, in between work, kids, family, friends and just life in general, we can forget to focus on ourselves as much as we need to. We all do it — I know I do. Whether you need a break or just want to focus on you for a while, I have some ideas that will help you through your journey.
Favorite stores + finds
As I said before, I'm very particular. I like things to have a certain look, be of superb quality and within my budget. I will be consistantly sharing all of my favorite stores and finds as well as helpful information on what to search for when shopping!
holiday inspiration
Although I'm not much of a holiday cook (that's my husband's area of expertise,) I still love to get festive! Decorating for the holidays is one of my favorite things to do! There are so many ways to get creative for the holidays, and I like to get messy with all of them!
Design + renovation
Are you looking for accent wall ideas, backsplash inspiration, kitchen color pallets or bathroom layout styles? I've got you covered. Building a tiny house, renovating a camper or making a she shed? I'll cover those as well. I'll be sharing my favorite products and ways to get you through anything from a quick room renovation to designing an entire home.
Neutral Tones
One of the most important aspects, if not the most vital aspect of my site, is the colors in which I will be presenting my ideas. I have loved neutral colors for as long as I can remember. Light brown being my favorite color, and natural wood being my prefered decor elements, I tend to stick to beiges, browns and whites. I love matte + pastel earthy tones as well, so you'll see a mixture of soft colors from time to time. If you are a lover of all things neutral, you are going to love my finds!!
Ethnic Finds
There is nothing better than finding those boho, muted, vintage, or vintage inspired one-of-a-kind finds. I think adding a touch of culture to our space or our lifestyle adds so much character.
natural & carved wood
One of the things I am always on the lookout for — natural & carved wood elements. I'm not talking laminate or veneer, (although, I may share some of those things in the future,) I'm talking real quality wood. Preferably reclaimed, weathered, carved, aged or whitewashed wood. I believe there is a place for manufactured wood, and there is a place for real wood. Both are acceptable and loved, my heart just prefers the natural look.
seagrass + wicker + rattan
I am a lover of anything hand woven. I love seagrass and rattan, wicker is beautiful as well, especially when whitewashed. Seagrass is so elegant looking and rattan adds an earthy boho natural feel to a space. Jute is also on the top of my list!
boho decor
I love adding classic boho elements to my designs.
Woods + whites
I love mixing woods and whites together, they compliment each other beautifully!
worldly textiles
Adding a Moroccan or Turkish rug, throw pillow or blanket to your space can make a space feel cozy and eclectic.
chippy + aged + whitewashed
I love anything that looks old and worn!
Everything linen
LINEN!! I am obsessed with linen, especially washed linen. Linen napkins, linen blankets, linen duvets, pillowcases, hand towels, dish towels, bath towels, robes, clothes, shoes, curtains, bags, and more. I am in love with it all!! Linen is just so breathable, it flows perfectly and is so classy and chic looking. It has the right look and texture, and I can't get enough of it!
Textures
Speaking of texture... anything with a worn or rough texture is beautiful in my book. There are so many different textures and when used in correlation to your color theme, they add so much character to a space.
boho + casual fashion & accessories
Casual, boho & flowy vibes.
DIY + Repurposed decor
I really enjoy creating my own look. If I can't find the look I'm wanting, I will find a way to make it happen! Whether that means staining, building, repurposing, painting or sewing something myself!
ceramics + ironstone
I can't get enough of handmade ceramics and vintage ironstone.
architectural character
Adding architectural pieces to your home is a great way to add character and dimension, as well as make a statement!
nursery + kid's rooms
I'll be loading up my blog with baby and kids' finds, for all areas of life! I love designing nurseries and playrooms. The opportunities are endless.
Montessori living
On that note, I should mention, I love Montessori living. Anything that can help a child learn, become independent and will push their abilities, is something worth having — in my opinion! Neutral colors to help them not get distracted, wood toys will last longer, and anything Montessori will help them grow. After all, that's what all kids truly want — to be able to do what their role models do.
Primitive + antique + vintage
Last, but definitely not least — my love for antique, vintage and primitive beauties. I cannot express how much I adore a little wooden table, bench, cabinet or dresser that was made by hand 50-100 years ago. The cuts in an old cheeseboard, worn edges of a table, or weathered white paint on a pair of shutters — nothing beats the real deal.

A.K.A. THE BORING STUFF ;)

I’ve wanted to be an interior designer since I was a young child, but, unfortunately, my teenage years got the best of me, causing me to focus on everything but actually living my dream.  In my early twenties, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness that left me unable to maintain a job, or do anything that involved me being on a strict schedule for awhile. Feeling lost and confused, to ease the distress, I started painting furniture and going to antique markets to cheer myself up when I felt well enough. That’s when I discovered my passion again!  A year later, I was doing large “junk” events, and had my own spaces in a few home decor and antique stores.  By the age of 25 I owned my own little curated antique, salvage and home decor store on Main Street in my home town.

I shut the doors to my store in 2020, right around when Covid hit the US. Covid wasn’t all to blame though, and the closure wasn’t a huge loss for me — as I loved my store and it was SO much fun, I just didn’t enjoy it anymore. My having to travel daily to find new treasures that matched my style, order new inventory and manage the shop as well as be the face of the business while it was open, became work for me. Even though I had tons of customers who absolutely loved my style, people that I adored, some of whom would drive from states away just to shop and get my design advice, I just felt like I was holding myself back by continuing to do what I was doing.  I wasn’t able to create to my full potential because of lack of recourses near me and lack of time — which made me feel like I was neglecting my happiness.  Closing the doors was one of the best things I could have done for myself, and it led me to where I am today.

After closing my shop, my husband and I, (boyfriend at the time,) moved to a bigger city due to his job and I spent the next couple of years decorating our home, casually decorating other people’s homes and events, as well as fully planning and decorating my DIY wedding. (Which was the most amazing day of my life thus far, I might add!)

Although I’ve had a good time doing all of the small things in between, I have always known that my heart wouldn’t be happy and my soul wouldn’t be fulfilled until I got back to doing what I truly love — designing, decorating, and helping people turn their spaces/surroundings into their own personal sanctuaries.  Which led me to this; my blog, my website, and my own personal sanctuary. A place where I can spread my love for products, give insight, and display my creations, designs, tips and tricks. But, most of all, a place where I can help people find comfort in their designing ability, the purchases they make, and confidence in their ability to creatively bring their own visions to life.

By joining you all in your journey to finding love and fulfillment within your personal style from anywhere, is truly the most fulfilling feeling I could imagine finding within myself!

Kel, for short.

This man is my best friend, partner, rock, and then some. We got together when I graduated high school 13 years ago and then went on to tackle thick and thin together.

He’s been a carpenter since he was young, so he not only knows everything there is to know about building, but I’ve been told that he just might be the best builder around — which is such a plus for what I do!  He’s my right hand man and never shy’s away from a good project.  We may be complete oposites overall, but we compliment each other very well in the building, designing and decorating aspect.  He also handles a camera pretty well, which makes him a keeper in my book. :)

I’m just so proud of him and his accomplishments.  I wouldn’t be where I am without him, and I couldn’t express how blessed I am to have found such a wonderful guy.

What’s that one thing that brings you pure joy? I don’t mean your family or friends, I mean something YOU do for yourself. The thing that gives you immediate goosebumps and causes a rush of excitement that flows through your body like a cup of hot coffee on cold morning at the same time.  We all have that something.  For me, it’s everything that has to do with embracing what is ME.  I know, I know, this blog is supposed to be about decorating and designing, which is my passion, but the truth is, this is about so much more than that for me.  This blog is every part of me sprinkled into tiny little pieces and displayed through products, colors, designs, outfits, stories and posts.  My love for decorating and designing didn’t start with me randomly decorating a space, designing a room or an outfit, it started with me discovering that searching for, and surrounding myself with the elements I love the most filled my heart with joy.  I have always been a very particular and overly picky person, which has been a blessing and a curse for me.  A curse in the way that most things in life left me feeling unfulfilled; a blessing in the way that it led me to finding my passion in life, which led me to where I am today.

Finding the elements that I love, designing a vision around them, and using them to complete that vision to create an aesthetic all my own, is truly a wonderful feeling. I believe that surrounding yourself with what makes you smile inside, in every aspect, is so important.  Everyone should feel comfortable, confident, inspired and at one with not only their space, but in their wardrobe, accessories, and lifestyle as well.  If we all filled our lives with only what makes our soul happy, then we’d all be a lot more comfortable in our own skin and at peace with ourselves.

Whether you’re in the process of finding your style, in between styles, or know exactly what you like, I hope to be able to help you find something you are searching for in the process. The beauty in decorating, is that you truly don’t have to have a specific style or taste to create your own masterpiece. Sure, there may be some rules we all like to follow, like matching color tones, rules of thirds, evenly distributing furniture in your home and using proper dimensions to cover a wall space, but those things come with time.  When you truly start to embrace what you love, is where it all starts.

If you’re new at decorating, designing or just looking for ideas on outfits, I’m here to help guide you, inspire you, and support you in finding your vision.  If you’re already a lover of the process and at one with your style, I’m here to be your muse and tell you where the deals are!

If you made it this far, thank you so much for being here and reading all of this, I truly appreciate you more than you know. You mean so much to me and my process. ♥

I may only know an inch of the millions of miles there are to know in life. But, what I do know is that my inch led me to discover exactly who I am, what I love and what makes my heart happy. I forever hope to grow inch by inch, but to never stray off this beautiful path of truth that I’ve shamelessly been guided by. The truth in that there is only one road among these millions of miles in which I belong. The road that makes me, me. A road that many paths will also cross, but few will travel. A road with stop signs, twists and turns, and even some dead ends. A road that experiences sunshine and storms, and that embraces it’s cracks, curves, holes and aging. A road that’s filled with beautiful flowers, trees, and plants, and even though they get scarce in the winter, they always grow again. A road that doesn’t follow any direction but it’s own, but also doesn’t judge the direction in which other roads lead. I may only know an inch of the millions of miles there are to know in life. But, what I do know is that my inch led me down a path that brought me to a road — that beautiful road belongs to me.
