Boho Neutral Boy Nursery

Boho Neutral Boy Nursery

How adorable is this safari themed nursery style guide?

A little bit of boho, a whole lot of neutral, and a tad bit of safari makes for a perfectly adorable baby boy nursery

"Boho neutral styled spaces aren't for boys"

If you’re a boy mom, you might think the options are a little scarce in the nursery decor, clothing or accessory department for your little guy.  If you do think this way — you’re not alone.  A lot of women feel as if it’s hard to find boho neutral styles fitting for a little boy.  In my experience, when talking to parents, it seems that a common belief is that the boho neutral style has, for some reason, been deemed “more of a girl thing.”

Yes, it’s harder to find boho items for boys because,   well, there’s no going around it, a lot of the boho colors are more on the feminine side.  That and, most of the boho children’s elements and characteristics that we’re used to seeing are rainbows, flowers, bell bottoms and flowy dresses, which are also viewed as feminine.  But, just because it’s a little harder to put a boho style together for your baby boy, doesn’t mean it isn’t possible!

The misconception in boho & neutral styles

I’m here to tell you that rainbows, flowers and flowy dresses aren’t the ONLY elements that qualify products, or spaces to be labeled as “boho styled,” and you absolutely CAN create a boho neutral theme for your baby boy — without using feminine colors.

Any earth tones, soft or pale tones or pastel colors  would be adorable for a boho neutral boy theme.  Honestly, you could use darker tones as well, if you stick to a color scheme and add in some boho elements to the space.  Using elements like linen, cotton, wood, muslin, rattan, wicker, seagrass, or wool will help turn your space into a boho wonderland!  Actually, using just a few boho focal point pieces can change the whole vibe of a room.  For instance, the sun wall art set in this style guide gives off a happy, free and warm feel, which is wonderful for a boho vibe.  Another great example is a wicker or rattan pendant light, like the one used in the photo.  The hanging nature of the lamp, as well as the material used, create an earthy presence and feel while standing in any room.

Finding baby products can be a struggle

When it comes to finding items to use in my style guides, baby products (decor and fashion),  are generally where I struggle the most.  Not because I don’t know what to look for, or I can’t find products, but because there is just too many cute things to choose from!  The net is filled with tons of beautiful and high quality nursery products, and sometimes it gets a little overwhelming scrolling page after page trying to distinguish which colors match the best, which items we love the most, or which products are good quality — I’m sure you can all relate!  If it were up to me, I’d have ten nurseries with ten different styles, I mean, how does anyone just settle for ONE style?  Unfortunately though, that’s not reality, and we all have to choose.

That’s where I come in.  I love searching for baby themed nursery items, well actually, (I love searching for everything baby for that matter), and using what I love the most to create style guides.  While searching for products for a different theme during my last nursery hunt, I found the cutest muslin burp clothes that I just could NOT get over, so I decided to create a safari nursery theme around them.

I fell in Love with this safari nursery theme as soon as I found the adorable matching crib sheetburp cloths, activity mat and changing mat cover Kendi collection by Crane Baby.  The neutral soft tones are beautiful and, of course, I’m a sucker for any kind of muslin baby products.  After further searching, I found that they also have safari bibs and a wearable baby blanket to match. (Adorable face emoji insert.)   Every time I look at the collection, I can’t help but to humm a soft “awwwe” out loud — Baby fever has been hitting me harder than ever lately.

I added some extra products that match this boho neutral boy nursery style guide theme, because well, I just couldn’t help myself!

Happy browsing!  (Smiley face insert)
